Description The topic of the paper is the question of space in relation to rituals and other events that took place in Baroque churches. The core of the paper consists of various examples of ritualized use of the church space, especially the three Czech-Moravian coronations of miraculous Madonnas from the 1730s: Svatá Hora near Příbram, Svatý Kopeček near Olomouc, Brno. The focus is on liturgical and social aspects: for example, the importance of the coronation rite and its relation to the usual liturgy and to the meaning of chosen parts of churches (altars, chapels); or the use of the sacred space in relation to the social structure of the community.
