Description The 11th and 12th centuries in Moravia was a period marked by the consolidation of Přemyslid power reflected in the establishment of princely estates and new fortified centres within the hillfort system. This paper seeks to present the results of non-destructive research, mainly geophysical surveying, into seven selected Moravian centres from the Late Hillfort period: Brno – Staré zámky, Dolní Věstonice – Vysoká zahrada, Drnholec, Rokytná, Spytihněv, Stavenice and Sudoměřice. The contribution introduces new information about the settlement structure and fortification systems, summarizes the results and sets them in context with the facts known from earlier archaeological research and excavations. Magnetometric surveys were conducted to the maximum extent on all sites. GPR and ERT were additionally employed in the survey of the fortifications, and surface collecting was carried out on the sites with suitable conditions. As part of the remote-sensing survey, orthophotos from agricultural locations were analysed. Data from laser scanning was used for sites located in forested areas.
