| Description | There are several poetic adaptations of the life of the 4th century saint, Alexius of Rome. One of them is associated with the territory of Slovakia, as it was written by a humanist Valentin Eck living in the city of Bardejov. In our presentation, we would like to analyse both the content and stylistics of his poem known as De divo Alexio patricio Romano comparing it with the medieval legend about Saint Alexius in the collection of hagiographies Legenda aurea written by Jacobus de Voragine. |
