Description Our intervention focused on the role of Rutebeuf's Dit de l'Herberie in the history of French comedy and on its influence in Czech literature. We tried to reveal comical as well as grotesque elements in relation to medicine and doctors. As Rutebeuf's work is, to a large extent, linked to certain events of his time and as these events have common points of view with regard to the diseases of our contemporary society, we have also underlined this effect which makes the Rutebeuf's work still current.
