Description For the noble society, the 19th and 20th centuries were a period of great changes and challenges, especially (but not exclusively) on the social, economic and political levels. It was during the 19th, and even more significantly during the 20th century, that members of the highest classes had to increasingly confront the rising bourgeois classes of the population. The workshop with the characteristic title: Nobility in the modern era. Noble society in the 19th and 20th centuries was focused on the history of the (provincial) Czech nobility in the modern era. The event featured a number of stimulating contributions by renowned experts on the subject. Aleš Zářický, Jan Koumar, Marcela Zemanová, Petra Medříková and others accepted the invitation. The main goal of the project was to stimulate discussions on the history of the provincial Czech noble community and its transformations, mainly in the 19th and 20th centuries. The secondary intention of the workshop organizers was to create a "platform" for sharing knowledge and experience between renowned and emerging researchers.
