Description The study aims at providing an empirical description of the current state in achieving quality with the help of Neural Machine Translation in English-Czech translation at the level of language syntax, with a view to improving processes of MAHT (Machine-Aided Human Translation and HAMT (Human-Aided Machine Translation) as well as corresponding translator training. The paper addresses aspects of machine translation in a pair of languages including Czech as a language generally less-researched within translation studies (although not MT studies) through empirical-based exploratory research combining raw NMT data, PE and HT data obtained from translation semi-professionals (translation students), and data obtained from interactive processes involving the same cohort of semi-professionals and a small cohort of professional translators.
