Description | My presentation is based on different approaches to investigation of the reality in Jesuit transoceanic missions in America, especially in areas governed by the Spanish colonial administration. It pays attention to diverse documents, which allow wider possibilities to historical research concerning various points of view on functioning of particular missions in the territory of present-day Mexico with members of the Province of Bohemia of the Society of Jesus who operated in those places. The presentation also focuses on analysis of multiple kinds of documents by interconnecting documents of secular and ecclesiastical provenience, as well as personal and official documents. Furthermore, it refers to possibilities of investigation of social status of Czech Jesuit missionaries in above mentioned missions. |
