Description The article tries to analyze the ethical level of contemporary theatre, focusing on the theme of human vulnerability and responsibility. The author uses the theoretical approaches of Hans-Thies Lehmann, Emmanuel Levinas and Judith Butler to analyse theatre works that explore political and social issues through the interaction of the spectator with the "Face of the Other". Contemporary theatre seems to have the ability to impact audiences more powerfully than media images by providing a space for active participation and shared awareness of the vulnerability of others. In this way, theatre becomes a tool to remind the audience of their humanity, which is defined by their responsibility towards others.
