| Description | Russian propaganda has its own language, it means that state leaders and pro-regime media make certain lexical choices that help them portray certain situations, events, or population groups in the light they want. This language is then passed on into the culture and elements of it appear in books or films. This study focuses on a particular term used in Russian propaganda in a displaced sense – the word Anglo-Saxons (Russian: ??????????) used as a pejorative term for English-speaking Western countries. This word and other labels for English-speaking enemies can be found in a certain type of Russian fantasy literature. |
