Description The study explores stigma-related barriers to professional psychological help-seeking among young adults and teachers in the Czech Republic. Stigmatisation, both self-directed and societal, plays a central role in avoidance or delay of care, yet research in this area remains limited in Central Europe. In January 2024, 4,500 young adults (18–35) and 438 teachers completed Czech translations of four established scales measuring attitudes, barriers, self-stigma, and public stigma. Preliminary results among teachers showed significant gender differences, with men reporting higher self-stigma and perceived stigma than women. Both stigma types correlated negatively with well-being and job satisfaction. Analyses of young adults are ongoing. The project represents the first systematic attempt to validate these scales in Czech and to clarify cultural and occupational patterns in help-seeking behaviour.
