Description Narrative event – An Attempt at negative Definition. – What is a narra- tive event? How can we define it? How is it demarcated? How does it relate to other events? Modern narrative theory raises these and other questions, particu- larly when attempting to define the simple segments that make up the complex structure of a narrative, which is the primary object of narrative theoretical in- vestigation. Efforts to define the narrative, both as a whole and in its parts (ac- tions and events), come from different theoretical perspectives and involve the integration of various disciplines: narratology, semiotics, philosophy, aesthetics, psychology, and more. In my contribution, I focus on the possibilities of defining actions, events, and narratives, always with attention to their specific properties.
