Description The dissertation deals with some theoretical and empirical aspects of psychological analysis of pupils` motivation for learning. In the dissertation we are presenting the results of a study the aim of which was not only to contribute to deeper knowledge of the level and structure of pupils` motivation for learning at elementary school and secondary school (gymnasium) in their own view (that is to say, how pupils themselves perceive their motives for learning), but also to compare our results with those arrived at research conducted before. We observed what the level of pupils` motivation for learning is like in dependence on their age, sex and parents` education. We also aimed at an analysis of the structure of pupils` motivation for learning (the ratio of their affective, effective and cognitive motivations) in dependence on their age and sex.
