Description | Based on the analysis of 850 wills from the years 1505 to 1760 deals the study with one of the aspects of legal practice in the royal town Chrudim. Consideration is given to reasons for making a will and to a general meaning of a will within the early modern legal and social discourse, further to types of wills and to the analysis of three basic phases of testamentary procedure. The author concludes with a discourse about a function of testamentary witnesses and tutors. The article points out some regional particularities of the legal practice in the town, which lies on a boundary of several legal regions. |
