Description The article deals with the issue of the use of the know-how produced in the tradition of the academic Study of Religions in multicultural education. Multicultural education is understood here in terms of the curricular reform of the Czech system of secondary education. This article shows that simple teaching about "world religions" might produce more stereotyping then useful information. It evaluates positively the emphasis of the curricular reform on abilities of critical thinking which is necessary to grand success of the multicultural education. In this context it elaborates the founding principles of the project of the Center for the Study of Religions and Multicultural Education (CERME).
