Description The chapter Magické předměty na moravském venkově (Magical objects in the Moravian countryside) recapitulates the existing ethnological research into magic and magical objects. It attempts to rethink the possibilities of ethnological study of such artifacts and thematizes them at the same time. When delimiting the group of magical objects of the Moravian countryside, it tries to discover the characteristics which would link them all. The chapter concludes that understanding the nature of magical objects must stem from placing these phenomena in the cultural context, either in the etic or emic approach. Finally it outlines several perspectives of the research of magical objects in the Moravian countryside, which seem promising mainly in connection with the fact that some of them yielded interesting results in other European countries.
