At its meeting on 19 September 2022, the Academic Senate of the MU Faculty of Arts approved the addition of doc. PhDr. Ondřej Šefčík, Ph.D., and Šarlota Sedláčková as members of the Disciplinary Committee. SKAS will introduce another student representative at the next meeting.

Vice-Dean Šaur gave a detailed report on the status of the scholarship fund, which is in a steady decline. This is due to the waiving of fees for the "covid" semester and recent expenditures related to supporting Ukrainian students. He presented a savings plan consisting of a reduction in merit scholarships. He also intends to call for more efficient use of funds by academic departments.

Prof. Foletti, chairman of the recently established Science Committee, reported on the committee's first meeting and its priorities, which include financial support for doctoral students.

The chair of the ad hoc committee gave the final report on the Horský case. They found that the current setup of faculty mechanisms would not allow a similar problem to happen again. The role of a faculty or university ombudsman is up for consideration. Dean Radová promised to report on this topic at the next Senate meeting. The Senate also instructed its representatives in the AS MU to become actively involved in this matter.

In the end, the Senate expressed its solidarity with Armenia as a state that Azerbaijan had attacked and where a humanitarian and cultural catastrophe threatened to lead to genocide.

In light of the current conflicts, the AS FF MU expresses its solidarity with the Republic of Armenia in times of military aggression and, at the same time, expresses its concern about the irreparable damage being done to the cultural, material, and immaterial heritage of humanity.

The detailed course of the meeting of the Senate is recorded in the minutes.

The next meeting of the Senate will be held on 24 October 2022.
