The conference included sixty presentations, a practical workshop on video reflection and a dynamic panel discussion on the future of teacher education. "The conference fostered an atmosphere of cooperation and networking," said co-organiser Jitka Sedláčková from the Department of English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts MU.
"The conference brought together approximately 110 delegates from more than ten countries, including the Czech Republic, neighbouring European countries, Sweden, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, South Korea and Japan," Sedláčková said. Among other highlights of the programme, she highlighted the keynote speeches by renowned experts Sarah Mercer, Steve Mann and Nayr Ibrahim, which she told captivated the audience with their thought-provoking ideas and inspired conversations about the changing landscape of language teacher education. "Participants left with new insights and connections that pave the way for advancing teacher education worldwide," she added.
The Second Language Teacher Education SLTED2024 conference was hosted in early September by the Department of English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts MU.
