Description In the paper, I set aside the confessionalisation theory, which is overly connected with the social-disciplining perspective and with the activities of the establishment. Instead, I focus on moments that played a significant role in the proces of the internalisation of post-Trent religious principles. In other words, I am interested in building and adopting Catholic identity in connection with the social structure and geographic-cultural conditions based on the example of two seignorial cities, Prague and Brno. The studied aspects - communication, the percentage of aristocracy, religious topography and legal tradition - demonstrate that Prague had the best conditions for the reception of the principles of the post-Trent Church.
