Description In 2022, the Fraus publishing house published a research history textbook Contemporary History for the 9th grade of primary school. In the seminar, the invited speakers attempted a comprehensive reflection on this effort to change the teaching of history. The story of the research textbook opens up a number of questions. How and why change the teaching of contemporary history? What is the contribution of a research approach to the teaching of history? Why has the textbook become the subject of controversy and what do these debates reveal? How does the new textbook work in practice?
