Galerie Edikula: OPEN CALL AUTUMN 2023
The Galerie Edikula announces an OPEN CALL for submissions of art objects and installations for exhibition blocks that will take place in the period autumn 2023–autumn 2024.
The Galerie Edikula is located in the heart of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, in front of the entrance to the study department. Open Call is designed especially for students and emerging artists. Due to the nature of the space, we focus mainly on SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATIONS and sculptural works of smaller sizes. We, therefore, prefer projects that communicate purposefully with the gallery space itself.
Applications should be sent to galerie.edikula@gmail.com by September 3, 2023.
The four winning exhibition projects will be selected by the Edikula Gallery coordination team consisting of Žaneta Turoňová, Kristýna Mikešová, Ester Horáková, Tereza Kučerová, Jana Semrádová, Johana Kalaninová a Paulína Horváthová, Šárka Kovaříková a Eva Švecová.
The announcement and publication of the results will be on September 11 2023. They will be published on the gallery's social media and emailed to all entrants.
The gallery operates thanks to the support of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University scholarship programme to support students' social, cultural and artistic activities.

Requirements for exhibition projects
- communication with the exhibition space itself
- maintenance-free (it is not possible to switch on the projector, tablet or media player every day; however, it is possible to switch on the lighting using timers)
- for fire safety reasons, works made of paper and other flammable materials cannot be accepted.
The gallery provides
- space
- curatorial support
- preparation of the opening, including its photo documentation
- promotion of the exhibition (posters, internet, social networks)
- contribution to installation and transport
