Call for Papers: Who Owns Heritage?
Call for Papers: Who Owns Heritage? Local Communities and the Fight for Historical Monuments in the 19th and 20th Centuries. Masaryk University Brno, Czechia, 6 November.
Since 2011, the AutoMat Association has been motivating the inhabitants of (not only) cities to transport themselves sustainably by bicycle, on foot or at a trot with its "Bike to Work" challenge, thus raising the profile of the need for safe infrastructure for walking and cycling.
This year, for the first time, the entire Masaryk University, including the Faculty of Arts, is participating in the event in a coordinated manner. The aim is to promote healthy movement of employees during regular commuting to work and, at the same time, to reduce the number of cars around the faculty buildings.
The challenge involves a team (2-5 participants) registered in the organisers' database under the MU Faculty of Arts. It doesn't just have to be cyclists; you can also support sustainable travel by scooter, skateboard, inline skate, walking, or running — however, only kilometres accumulated in the month of May count.
The faculty will pay for the registration of the teams you form during March out of the sustainability budget. Later registrations are possible, but the faculty does not contribute to them. Before registering, contact the faculty coordinator, Jiří Žganič Šprdlík (sprdlik@phil.muni.cz), who will guide you through the entire registration process.
