HR Award – The Faculty has its own Gender Equality Plan

It includes a number of activities that complement the university-wide measures at the faculty level, tailored to its specific needs and context. The plan is based on the findings and recommendations from comprehensive gender equality audits conducted at the Faculty of Arts in recent years.

On 29 September 2025, the faculty management approved the Gender Equality Plan of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University 2025–2028. The document builds on the Masaryk University Gender Equality Plan 2025–2028.

It includes a number of activities that complement the university-wide measures at the faculty level, tailored to its specific needs and context. The plan is based on the findings and recommendations from comprehensive gender equality audits conducted at the Faculty of Arts in 2021 and 2024.

Why do we support gender equality?

  • To create an ethical and fair working environment for everyone.
  • To enhance the quality and relevance of outcomes through diversity in teams, which brings together multiple perspectives.
  • To ensure compliance with legislation and alignment with national and European policy goals.
  • For economic benefits – the plan is a prerequisite for funding from certain providers (e.g. it is mandatory under Horizon Europe).
  • To fulfil the gender equality requirements for research institutions holding the HR Excellence in Research Award, at all levels of academic practice – in recruitment, career progression, selection and evaluation committees, and in many other principles.
