Popis The former monastery Tegernsee is embedded in a very special way in the landscape on the northern edge of the Alps. It looks back on over 1,350 years of history, parts of which can still be read in the current parish church of St. Quirinus. In-depth insights have been made possible by various securing and renovation work over the past decades: New insights could be gained from the subsurface with the remains of the previous buildings to the roof structure. The opening of the sarcophagus by the monastery founders, the brothers Otkar and Adalbert from the Huosi family, gave particular insights; The latter is known as the first abbot in Tegernsee. The brothers themselves, their history and the textiles that were given to them in the grave form the core of this multidisciplinary publication, which also takes leave of the legend that the monastery was founded in 746 - at that time Otkar and Adalbert were still children been.
