Popis The present study examines official Twitter accounts of Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau, arguably the two highest representatives of the United States and Canada, respectively. The data for the study were collected in two different periods, one being in August - prior to the character-limit change on Twitter, the other after the change took place. By juxtaposing these two prominent politicians, the paper tries to explore the means employed by them to present and possibly promote their respective countries. Concomitantly, the study examines what kinds of discursive and other (e.g. visual and stylistic) devices the two leaders use for the purposes of negotiating national identity. Finally, it inspects whether they use Twitter as a platform in order to articulate their national political agenda.
