Popis The classification of the alliances between Freiburg and Bern as "functional combourgeoisies" as early as 1243 opens up new possibilities for considering the phenomenon of Burgrechte in the wider region and in comparison with the Burgrechte of the nobility. The consolidation of rule since the 1290s was largely done with the means of Burgrechte and formed the core of the growing integration of cities. The new copy of the castle law between Bern and Freiburg in 1341 shows how a "normal state" for the economy and contacts between the elites could be restored shortly after the war. A step backwards from the state of 1271 was not possible, the relationship was even intensified. The same happened in 1403 and 1454, with the entire history of the Alliance documented with each new contract.
