Popis In the conflict between the Teutonic Order and the Polish-Lithuanian Union, the general council did not initially play a more substantial role. As the most effective tools to complete a truce or a peace treaty saw both sides either a military solution or bilateral talks. Nevertheless, neither the Grand Master nor the King of Poland originally intended to send the respective embassy to the Council of Constance with a power of attorney to deal with disputes between the order and the Polish-Lithuanian Union negotiate. Only after both sides got into a military-political stalemate and the Pope and the King of Rome had induced the conclusion of the armistice, the relevant decision was made.
