Popis	The contribution summarizes the ancient information about the hydronym ??????/Liger(is) ‘Loire’ in order to obtain all relevant variants of this river-name. Taking into account the most probable semantic motivations characteristic for river-names, they are etymologized in the Celtic/Indo-European perspective. For the sake of completeness one non-Indo-European etymology is also offered.
